About Me
Hi there!
I'm Carla Alcántara, a passionate interdisciplinary artist from Mexico City, now based in Vancouver, BC. I hold a Bachelor’s in Communications from Universidad del Valle de Mexico, a Diploma in Contemporary Dance and Scene Production from the Centro de Danza y Producción Escénica de Baja California, and an Associate of Arts degree from University Canada West.

In 2013, I had the incredible opportunity to study as an exchange student at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where I delved into photography, film, and performing arts. This experience allowed me to blend my two greatest passions: movement and visual storytelling.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with talented artists, choreographers, and companies, working as both a dancer/choreographer and a photographer/videographer. Being a part of the performing arts world has given me a unique perspective, enabling me to capture the essence of artistic processes, scene productions, workshops, and live performances.

With over eight years of teaching experience, I love directing and creating a safe, welcoming space where everyone can shine and show their full potential. My professional journey spans capturing everything from artistic events and creative photoshoots to branding, family moments, and couples. I believe that versatility fuels creativity, helping to produce content that stands out.
I bring my full heart into every project, resonating with the energy and stories of those I capture. Whether it's dance, theater, or any form of performance, I connect deeply with the artists, feeling their rhythm, breath, and movement as if I’m on stage with them.

I’d love to connect, hear your story, and create something meaningful together. At the core, I’m a dancer, photographer, videographer, and choreographer—but what excites me most is blending these disciplines to make art that moves people.
